This workshop of artisan weaving, operates in the territory of Macerata utilizing exclusively old manual looms.

A choice born from the desire to repropose the forgotten tradition of the local textile.  Complicated procedures and archaic techniques permit the realization of a hand made and valuable original.
The workmanship tends to create a type of ethnic fabric according to the antique technique of “liccetti”, which permit the reproduction of the design, a method kept alive until today thanks to the wisdom and constancy of a few weaving professionals in the Marche territory. 
This type of hand made product is decorated with elements of natural inspiration that are  documented extensively for all of  the ‘300’s and ‘400’s in the rustic materials of central Italy. Dragons, lions, eagles, griffons, peacocks…figurations both realistic and imaginary, make precious this part of the production of “la Tela” workshop; in particular those “classical” elements that in the past constituted the female dowry, bed covers, sheets, hand towels, tablecloths, drapery and carpets.
Everything can be realized from the planning to the exact measurements; enriching the handwork not only with antique designs described above, but also with personalized designs, responding to the esthetic needs of the customer. Thanks to this prerogative the production of the workshop distinguishes itself from the traditional creation of (to compliment both rustic or modern furniture)

and fabrics for clothing.
The product created in this manner is therefore unique, unrepeatable and without equivalent on the market.
Both the traditional artistic textile as well as that which is personalized require the final touches, workmanship which demands an attentive care for detail; fabrics of mixed linen for tablecloths or drapery, with attachments of lace, crochet, macramé, tombolo, …..enhancing the products in this way with a particular richness.
Even these being precious arts which “la Tela” workshop intends to keep alive as a testimony of a culture, which merits valorization.

Questo laboratorio di tessitura artigianale, opera nel territorio maceratese utilizzando esclusivamente vecchi telai manuali.
Tale scelta è nata dal desiderio di riproporre la dimenticata tradizione tessile locale.  Procedimenti complessi e tecniche arcaiche permettono di realizzare un manufatto originale e pregato.
La lavorazione tende a ricreare un tipo di tessuto etnico secondo l’ingegnosa e antica tecnica dei “liccetti”, che permette la riproduzione del disegno, tecnica mantenuta viva fino ad oggi grazie alla sapienza e alla costanza di alcuni maestri tessitori marchigiani.
L’iconografia di tale genere di manifattura presenta nelle liste decorative, elementi d’ispirazione naturalistica, documentati a lungo per tutto il ‘300 e ‘400 nelle stoffe rustiche dell’Italia centrale.
Draghi, leoni, aquile, grifoni, pavoni… figurazioni tra verismo e fantasia, impreziosiscono parte della produzione del laboratorio “la Tela”e in particolare quegli elementi “classici” che avrebbero costituito in passato il corredo femminile, quali coperte, lenzuola, asciugamani, tovagliati, tendaggi e tappeti. Il tutto può essere realizzato sia su misura che su progettazione; possibilità questa che arricchisce la lavorazione non già di “segni” antichi sopra descritti, ma di “segni” personalizzati, rispondenti alle esigenze estetiche del committente.
Grazie a questa prerogativa la produzione del laboratorio si dipana da quella tradizionale nella creazione di “arazzi” (da inserire in arredi rustici o moderni) e tessuti per abbigliamento.
Il prodotto cosi ottenuto ha la peculiarità di essere unico, irripetibile, senza equivalenti sul mercato.
Sia il tessuto artistico tradizionale che quello personalizzato richiedono il supporto della “rifinitura”, operazione questa che esige un’attenta cura dei dettagli;  tessuti in misto lino per tovagliati o tendaggi, tramite incassi o applicazioni in pizzo, uncinetto, macramè, tombolo, intaglio… acquistano cosi particolare ricchezza.
Arti preziose anche queste che il laboratorio “la Tela”, intende far sopravvivere quale testimonianza di una cultura meritevole di essere valorizzata.
