Il Mulinello o rocchettatrice è uno strumento costituito da una ruota piuttosto grande, posta verticalmente sulla estremità di una base e fissata su due perni di legno.
L'azione di una manovella, grazie ad un congegno di corde, permette il movimento della ruota in grado così di far girare una corta asta di ferro inserita su altri due perni di legno nella parte opposta della base.
Su questa piccola asta viene inserito un rocchetto di canna (in dialetto maceratese cannelli o cannilù) che, girando accoglie il filo per la trama o per l'ordito, operazione chiamata di "avvolgimento".

The bobbin winder
The bobbin winder, in its most traditional form, is comprised of a large wheel, placed vertically on one end of a long and narrow base and attached to two wooden pivots.
The action of a handle, thanks to a rope device, allows the movement of the wheel that turns a short iron rod inserted on two other wooden pivots on the opposite end of the base.
On this small rod is inserted a reed bobbin (the Italian word for “reed” is “canna” which in the Macerata dialect is also known as “cannelli or cannilù) that rotating, collects the thread for the weft or the warp.
This operation is called “winding”.
